If Gordon wouldn't have suffered a hip flexor injury against LSU the Badgers would be undefeated this season. Yulp, I said it. You don't like it, create your own blog and dispute the claim (or comment below) or come see me in the streets. Which ever adventure you choose it's not gonna end well for you.
Anyway, Bowling Green's adventure did not end well as Melvin Gordon made them look like a lingerie football league practice squad last weekend. Watch this:
Eddie Goldman saved the day for the Jameis Winston-less Noles. He had a key sack in OT, forced a fumble late in third with Clemson driving for a late score, and blew up numerous plays by dominating whoever was assigned to block him all game long.
Let's start here by witnessing Goldman's freakish ability to fire of the line of scrimmage. When this play happened no one batted an eye or even considered that it was a bad penalty. Goldman didn't even protest. Watch in awe:
Then this happened:
Goldman's biggest play would come in the fourth quarter. After what appeared to be a devastating Sean Maguire interception gave Clemson a chance to win the game late in the fourth Goldman did this:
"OH MY GOD WE GOT THE BALL BACK!"
Amari Cooper is the best wide out in the country. Saturday he was covered by Vernon Hagreaves III one of the best corners in the Country. Cooper caught 10 passes for 201 yards and 3 TDS but most of that was from one busted play and running through zone coverages. However there were times when the two players were pitted against one another with the ball in the air. Two of the biggest plays in this match up were negated by penalties. Cooper had a 33 yard catch against VHIII that was negated by an illegal formation call and Cooper was flagged for pushing off on Hargreaves. The push off would wipe out a 17 yard TD.
In the third quarter Cooper was able to out leap Hargreaves and come down with the catch in the end zone as Hargreaves tried to knock the ball loose. It was only a four yard catch but it was Cooper's most impressive of the game. If you look at the picture below you can see that Hargreaves has his left forearm on Copper's right shoulder pad, using all of his body weight to pull Cooper's right arm from the ball. Simultaneously, VHIII's right arm is in between Cooper's arms and his right palm is on the ball, pushing the ball in the opposite direction that his body weight is falling. This is great corner back play from a kid that will surely be a first round pick. The fact that Cooper came down with this ball supports the notion that he's the best wide out in the nation and nobody can hold him.
Shane was 30/48 with 435 yards passing completing 62% of his passes for 4 TDS and 1 pick against the University of North Carolina Tar Heels. Carden enjoys playing ACC defenses. He has put up a combined 865 yards passing 7 TDS and 1 INT over the past two weeks against VT and UNC. Shane and the ECU Pirates look to be for real this season and are my pick to win the AAC this season. If he keeps playing like this he may even get drafted by an NFL squad and get that tattoo finished.
